Why not buy a pet from a pet store?
If you’re thinking about buying a dog from a puppy store, please read this first…
Most puppies at pet stores come from puppy mills. Puppy mills are mass breeding operations that solely exist to supply public demand for designer dogs, many of whom eventually end up in animal shelters anyway. The operation is totally based on profit, there isn’t any concern for the welfare of the animals in the mills, they receive no socialization, inadequate food, little or no veterinary care, are piled on top of each other in cages for their entire lives, and are bred over and over again. They live in cramped, dirty environments. The cute little designer dog you see in your local pet shop came from a mill where its parents are suffering 24/7. There’s a good chance the puppy you buy from a pet store will suffer from medical ailments due to the terrible conditions in puppy mills. Instead, adopt from a shelter.
