His journey brought him to the Kent Animal Shelter where the Macchio family fell in love with Oliver. Oliver was so neglected that he was in horrific condition when he arrived at the shelter. The family felt that adopting a dog and giving a second chance to a homeless animal was the best way to make a difference.
